The Junior Interprovincials are run in August each year in one of the four provinces on a rotation cycle.

They are run at Under 14 and Under 18 level only.

Each team consists of five boys and five girls, with an adult non-playing captain and vice-captain looking after the team. If the matches are not in Ulster, the team will travel to the venue and stay for two nights in accommodation for the championships.

Each age group takes place over two days with each province playing the other provinces once. The format of each match is:

  • Two boys singles matches
  • Two girls singles matches
  • One boys doubles
  • One girls doubles

The Ulster team is selected based on:

  • The top 4 ranked players in the UTP rankings at the end of the Ulster Junior Open
  • One wild-card position

In normal circumstances, all players must play three Ulster tournaments (including one during the summer) to be eligible for selection for the teams.
